How the analysis works

  1. 1

    Import your games

Link your Chess.com username, connect your Lichess account through the official Lichess authorization, drop PGN files (multi-game files are supported), paste a PGN or fetch a game from its URL.

  2. 2

    Pick an analysis profile

Choose how deep Stockfish should look. The analysis runs on our servers in the background, so your device does none of the work and you can follow the progress live.

  3. 3

    Review the game

Step through the moves on an interactive board with an evaluation bar and an evaluation chart, read the automatic comments and play the engine's best lines on the board.

What every analysis gives you

Accuracy and ACPL

An accuracy score for each player, computed with the method published by Lichess, plus the average centipawn loss (ACPL).

Move classification

Every move gets a label, from brilliant (a sound sacrifice that is also the best move) to blunder, with opening book moves and forced moves recognized as such.

Key moments

The decisive moments where a player's winning chances dropped the most, and the big evaluation swings of the game. Click the chart to jump to any position.

Best lines

Stockfish's two best lines for each position after the opening book, which you can play on the board. Critical moments get a deeper check, with up to three candidate lines on critical positions with the Deep profile.

Game report

An estimated Elo performance for the game, your strengths and what to improve, opening and endgame phases, and the distribution of your moves.

Automatic comments

Plain-language comments on the important moves, generated from the engine's data: what was lost, which move was better, and missed or allowed mates.

Frequently asked questions

Is Roque's chess game analysis free?
Yes. Creating an account and analyzing your games is free. To keep the servers fair for everyone, there is a daily analysis limit, and the Deep profile has its own 24-hour quota.
Which chess engine does Roque use?
Roque uses Stockfish 18, the open-source engine released under the GPLv3 license. It runs on our servers, not in your browser.
Can I analyze my Chess.com and Lichess games?
Yes. For Chess.com, enter your username: Chess.com offers no OAuth, so Roque checks that the account exists and fetches your public games. For Lichess, you connect through the official Lichess authorization — no password, and it cannot play games or change your account. You can also import any PGN.
How is accuracy calculated?
Each move is scored by how much it lowers your winning chances according to Stockfish, then the scores are combined into a game accuracy, following the method published by Lichess. ACPL is shown alongside it.
Do I need an account?
Yes. An account keeps your imported games and finished analyses in your personal library, so you can review them at any time.
